Position Description

You will make a great impact within QIAGEN by:

- Leading an existing team of software developers that develops, builds, ships and maintains our flagship product for Research and Pharma, namely Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (https://digitalinsights.qiagen.com/products-overview/discovery-insights-portfolio/analysis-and-visualization/qiagen-ipa/). You will work closely with software QA, GPM, dev ops and our software developer colleagues from Redwood City, CA.

- Taking responsibility and accountability for managing the product development process and leading the engineering design, implementation, integration and documentation of new features.

- Designing and implementing easy-to-use, high-performance, high-quality hosted enterprise applications

- Collaborating with peers in Product Management & Product Owners to deliver a clear strategic product & technology roadmap

- Supporting existing customers

- Supporting the development of your direct reports through coaching, development plans and open and honest feedback.

Position Requirements

Your know-how from professional perspective:

- 3+ years experience in people management

- 7+ years of hands-on software development experience

- Strong technical expertise in Java

- Experience in: building large scalable systems, Agile & Scrum, hands-on managing of team and projects, working with global teams

 

Your education, skills & competences:

- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or equivalent

- Classwork in biology or related sciences is a plus

- Strong leading skills, situational adaptability, dealing with ambiguity

- Strong collaborative ability and communication skills, self-knowledge

- Action oriented, technical savvy, ensures accountability
